BARWON Heads brothers Lennox and Bentley are young entrepreneurs in the making after selling their backyard harvest of lemons in a nature strip stall at the weekend.<\/p>\n
Mum Sasha Wells said her boys set up their lemon stall on Wattlebird Crescent on Saturday, complete with little chairs, along with a pot plant to make it look nice for people passing by, and then all the lemons loaded on shelves.<\/p>\n
Lennox said he wrote the stall sign \u2013 “Lemons 20c” – so customers knew how much they needed to pay, while Bentley gathered a cash register filled with play money and some coins to make change.<\/p>\n
“I thought it would be a good idea because we couldn’t use all those lemons, so I decided we could sell them,” Lennox said.
\n“We sold a few of them to people… and we did get a lot of money!<\/p>\n
“I’ll get some Pok\u00e9mon cards, and my brother wants chocolate.”<\/p>\n
Sasha said it was sweet watching her boys get excited about picking the lemons, setting up the stall, and their neighbours and family transforming into customers.<\/p>\n
“It was good for their patience as they waited for customers,” she said.<\/p>\n
“It wasn’t long before their first customers arrived across the road (Nan and Pap), offering the sweeten the deal with ice creams for the boys.”<\/p>\n
Sasha said they learnt about money and maths as they counted the lemons, and they had a lot of fun along the way meeting new people and chatting to neighbours\/customers.<\/p>\n
“Thanks to everyone who came out, said hello, brought lemons and supported the boys in their fun little venture.”<\/p>\n
Lennox said the best think about the stall was picking the lemons, and getting money. “And my favourite part was also setting it up because I learnt how to pick lemons and use them.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
