FOLLOWING lockdown travel disruptions, Port Phillip Ferries is aiming to be back on the water and welcoming visitors and commuters between Docklands and Portarlington from today, Saturday July 31.
\nPPF has taken advantage of the lockdown by scheduling an extensive maintenance of the Bellarine Express, with the Geelong Flyer to operate from Portarlington for two weeks.
\nThe availability of ample free parking at Portarlington was behind the decision to temporarily suspend the Geelong service and continue the Docklands service only from Portarlington until both resume on August 8, subject to COVID restrictions.
\nMeanwhile PPF is continuing its promotion of the Bellarine, its wineries and other attractions, to entice Melburnians to the region when travel is permitted.
\nThe ferry operator is continuing to work behind the scenes on plans and options to further enhance the service, make trips quicker, explore new routes and boost the local tourism industry.
\nThere are also free travel incentives to businesses to offer their employees who live in Geelong or the Bellarine, encouraging workers to try the commuter ferry service as they return the office, post-lockdown, with details on the PPF website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
