A RECORD 32 businesses from the Bellarine have signed up to take part in next year\u2019s Festival of Glass Treasure Hunt.<\/p>\n

During the Treasure Hunt, which will run from January 8 to February 18, each participating business will display a commissioned piece, then all the pieces become prizes in the Treasure Hunt draw at the Festival of Glass Expo on February 18 at Drysdale\u2019s Christian College.<\/p>\n

At an exclusive preview on December 13, the business people learnt how their commissioned glass art was created, while the artists learnt how their creativity was supporting the local economy.<\/p>\n

Diane Schofield\u2019s Treasure Hunt team has signed up 32 businesses from Drysdale, Clifton Springs, Curlewis and Portarlington \u2013 up from the 28 businesses in last year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone\u2019s a winner in our Treasure Hunt,\u201d Ms Schofield said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBusinesses can increase their custom, glass artists can increase their public profile and, of course, treasure hunters can win beautiful glass art.\u201d<\/p>\n

The annual Festival of Glass began in 2011 and celebrates the beauty and versatility of glass in art, craft and industry, and it promotes collaboration between people who work with glass.<\/p>\n
