{"id":47660,"date":"2021-12-27T04:00:24","date_gmt":"2021-12-26T17:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/lago-reopens-for-lonsdale\/"},"modified":"2021-12-22T13:37:27","modified_gmt":"2021-12-22T02:37:27","slug":"lago-reopens-for-lonsdale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/lago-reopens-for-lonsdale\/","title":{"rendered":"Lago reopens for Lonsdale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LONSDALE Links has finally reopened the centrepiece of its major course redevelopment, with its Lago restaurant welcoming back customers.<\/p>\n<p>Point Lonsdale\u2019s golf course clubhouse returned to full capacity last week, almost a year to the day after the club unveiled its architecturally designed home.<\/p>\n<p>Lago opened for about a month from late April this year, before lockdowns from May limited the club\u2019s capacity and forced the eatery to close its doors.<\/p>\n<p>The Italian-themed restaurant hosted a famil event to celebrate its reopening ahead of Christmas and summer, and Lonsdale Links general manager Josh Hall said the club was thrilled to finally welcome back customers to its new clubhouse\u2019s jewel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe restaurant is the centrepiece of the new clubhouse, which we opened December last year,\u201d Mr Hall said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe opened the restaurant successfully around April, but then with COVID and lockdowns we\u2019ve had to close it for a few months and then get it going again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith COVID it\u2019s been a heavily disrupted year. We were able to retain our key staff including head chef Ivan (Roianov).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very much looking forward to opening this week and staying open for summer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new restaurant aims to provide another modern dining experience for Point Lonsdale, while the club will still offer more casual options for golfers and families.<\/p>\n<p>Chef Roianov is Ukrainian by birth and has extensive experience at kitchens throughout Europe and the Middle East, and plans to bring his acquired Mediterranean flare to Lonsdale locals and visitors.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_47703\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47703\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-47703 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/12\/Lonsdale-Links-3.png?_t=1640140547\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/12\/Lonsdale-Links-3.png 600w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/12\/Lonsdale-Links-3-300x190.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-47703\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lago head chef Ivan Roianov brings a wealth of international cooking experience to the Point Lonsdale restaurant. Photo: NIKOLE RAMSAY<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s not fine dining but it\u2019s a nice two and three-course menu,\u201d Mr Hall said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe restaurant and the outlook is just stunning, it\u2019s a beautiful place to come and dine.
