{"id":4783,"date":"2018-01-02T12:46:33","date_gmt":"2018-01-02T12:46:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=4783"},"modified":"2018-01-02T12:46:33","modified_gmt":"2018-01-02T12:46:33","slug":"dolly-good-effort-shintaros-gaze-helps-paul-stay-strong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/dolly-good-effort-shintaros-gaze-helps-paul-stay-strong\/","title":{"rendered":"A dolly good effort: Shintaro\u2019s gaze helps Paul stay strong"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Paul Thompson\u2019s dream of visiting Japan came to fruition this year, bringing home a keepsake with a twist.<\/p>\n<p>Nestled in his suitcase was a Japanese Daruma doll traditionally painted red with a warrior face and used as an external reminder to help achieve goals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGoing to Japan had always been on my bucket list so to celebrate turning 70 this year I went in October for 16 days,\u201d Mr Thompson said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was drawn to the doll at a market as I knew what they are used for.
