NEW community group Clifton Springs Curlewis Coastcare are hosting a Coastcare Community Day next week for all those interested in protecting the Clifton Springs and Curlewis coastal environment.<\/p>\n
The event will feature a presentation by Dr. Paul Carnell from Deakin University\u2019s Blue Carbon Lab who will showcase local seagrass species and what makes seagrass so important and demonstrate how the local community can protect and monitor it.<\/p>\n
Naomi Wells from Bellarine Catchment Network will also be facilitating a beachcomb and will be running a session on indigenous plant identification.<\/p>\n
The day is free and a light lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n
All participants over 18 years must be double vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/p>\n
The event is supported by the City of Greater Geelong, Coastcare Victoria and the Victorian Government.<\/p>\n
The Coastcare Community Day will be held at the Clifton Springs foreshore (near the old pylons), 2A Jetty Road, Clifton Springs, on Monday, January 17 from 10am-2pm.<\/p>\n
