ONCE again, in the blink of an eye, we have reached the end of another year, a rollercoaster ride of personal growth and experience, and another chapter in the lively novel of Macey comes to an end.<\/p>\n
With every ending comes a new beginning, and with that, I am so excited to start my journey with professional cycling team Wiggle High5 in 2018.<\/p>\n
I\u2019ll be kickstarting this season with my first ever taste of the Aussie road cycling summer, a series of events I have watched in awe over the previous years.<\/p>\n
To race at this level anywhere in the world is a privilege and something I am very grateful for, but to race at this level in my own country, in front of my own people, is something truly special.<\/p>\n
On the 27th of this month I will be lining up in Geelong ready to race Australia\u2019s premier modern one-day classic \u2013 the Deakin University Elite Women\u2019s Race at the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race.<\/p>\n
It will be my first time racing along Victoria\u2019s picturesque Surf Coast and while I\u2019d love to be taking in the view, I imagine that in a women\u2019s field of this calibre combined with coastal winds, I won\u2019t be seeing too much other than the wheel in front of me!<\/p>\n
Being only my second race back in the peloton as a \u201cprofessional\u201d, I\u2019m sure there will be equally as many nerves as there is excitement lingering as I roll to the start line.<\/p>\n
Even though I am yet to meet my new Wiggle High5 teammates, I know that when I line up with these girls in our black and orange, they will have my back just as much as I will have theirs.<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s to a new chapter, new friends and many new memories to come in my first Aussie cycling summer!<\/p>\n
