Lorne Hotel is expecting another sold out event when comedians Dave Hughes and Dave O\u2019Neil come to town January 12.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Gracing our television screens and radio airwaves the popular duo are bringing their unique comedic style to town after selling out a similar event in January last year.<\/p>\n

Paul Upham from Lorne Hotel said the act was a massive drawcard for the venue, attracting more than 200 people last year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe held the event in our View function room and the pair\u2019s comedy style really resonated with the crowd,\u201d Paul said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth guys have young families so the stories they tell about Laughs loved parenthood and what you go through really struck a chord with the audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said that compared to previous events, Dave Hughes attracted big numbers.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been working with Dave O\u2019Neil for over 12 months now and every three months whether it\u2019s a long weekend or school holidays he\u2019ll generally organise a night for us and we\u2019ll put an act on.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s definitely not easy to arrange an evening like this, the key thing is working with their schedules but they enjoy doing it so they do their best to come down and find a date so they can do the show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paul said because Dave Hughes grew up in the Western Districts, a lot of his material covers local regions.<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth guys are really good at what they do, relatable and the fact Dave\u2019s a Warrnambool boy makes him even more of a drawcard because he\u2019s telling stories about Lorne, Colac and Geelong,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
