\u201cWITHOUT you, we couldn\u2019t go surfing and it’s such a wonderful feeling being able to get in the sea,\u201d Lynne Foremann said.<\/p>\n
Lynne took part in a Disabled Surfers Association (DSA) surf day at Ocean Grove, where volunteers help people of all abilities experience a fun and safe surfing session.<\/p>\n
DSA are now on the search for more participants and volunteers to take part on February 4 and March 4.<\/p>\n
DSA says its aim is simply to put \u201csmiles on dials\u201d and to provide an inclusive experience for all people with any disability to experience the rush of riding a wave.<\/p>\n
The days are a great way for volunteers to make a contribution to the community, it is incredibly rewarding and provides an experience that able bodied people can often take for granted.<\/p>\n
No surfing experience is necessary to participate or volunteer and training is provided on the day for new volunteers.<\/p>\n
All equipment is also supplied and there is a barbecue lunch, fruit and water supplied to everyone involved in the event.<\/p>\n
There is also no cost to attend the DSA surf days at Ocean Grove.<\/p>\n
Event dates are February 4 and March 4, registration is from 8am and the day concludes between 1pm and 2pm.<\/p>\n
Events are held at Ocean Grove Main Beach.<\/p>\n
