{"id":54759,"date":"2022-07-02T04:00:26","date_gmt":"2022-07-01T18:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=54759"},"modified":"2022-07-02T10:00:37","modified_gmt":"2022-07-02T00:00:37","slug":"queenscliff-arts-prize-opens-for-2022-23-entries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/queenscliff-arts-prize-opens-for-2022-23-entries\/","title":{"rendered":"Queenscliff Arts Prize opens for 2022\/23 entries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Queenscliff Arts Prize is back in 2022\/23 and entries are now open for what is being described as Australia\u2019s biggest outdoor art exhibition, set to again located on the<br \/>\nQueenscliff Pier.<\/p>\n<p>The new exhibition period begun earlier this month and entries have been coming in thick and fast, with the event already attracting plenty of local interest as well as entries from rural and metropolitan areas around the country.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 517px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/06\/ff_42818.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"517\" height=\"677\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A work by 2022\/23 entrant Adam Stanley.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s lots of excitement about the second annual Queenscliff Arts Prize and plenty of entries have already come in,\u201d curator Chris MacLeod said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year was very successful with the event praised for it\u2019s innovation and the results that it generated in it\u2019s inaugural year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are really looking for a diverse range of artwork this year and really grow that reach amongst the wider community.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe can\u2019t wait to keep seeing everyone\u2019s amazing entries as we continue to make this event bigger and better on the beautiful Queenscliff Pier.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Artists are encouraged to enter a host of different categories for the exhibition with photographs, paintings, drawings and everything in between accepted into the draw.<\/p>\n<p>All entries in 2022\/23 will be by digital submission, with artworks then put on show in November when the exhibition officially opens.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 576px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/06\/asdfdfd_13403.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"576\" height=\"527\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A 2022\/23 entry courtesy of Jo Reitze.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition to the major Queenscliff Arts Prize, the event will also include and showcase amazing artwork by the intellectually disabled courtesy of a partnership with the Endeavour Foundation and QArt Gallery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled to be partnering with Endeavour and the QArt Gallery in showcasing some amazing artwork on the pier by some of the state\u2019s best intellectually disabled artists,\u201d MacLeod said.<\/p>\n<p>To fund the exhibition, general Queenscliff Arts Prize entrants will have part of their entry fee directed towards assisting to fund the intellectually disabled art showcase.<\/p>\n<p>The prize will also include a schools competition exhibition with students from Sacred Heart College, Christian College, Lorne P-12 College and Apollo Bay P-12 College.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous students will be nominated from each school to have their art exhibited on the pier in November.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, MacLeod hopes to see about 150 artworks on the pier in November.<\/p>\n<p>To apply for the prize or to find out more information, head to queenscliffartprize.com.au.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE Queenscliff Arts Prize is back in 2022\/23 and entries are now open for what is being described as Australia\u2019s biggest outdoor art exhibition, set to again located on the Queenscliff Pier.
