RAIN didn\u2019t stop the thousands of visitors who descended on the Portarlington Mussel Festival from enjoying themselves at the weekend.<\/p>\n
Organisers hailed the annual event on Saturday as another great festival, and wanted to thank everyone who attended, volunteered and provided sponsorship.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough we had a bit of rain it didn\u2019t dampen the spirits of anyone and we all had fun,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n
Tanya Thornton said: \u201cWhat an amazing day and atmosphere. Plenty to do, see and eat with a perfect back drop of gorgeous Portarlington. Congratulations to the community and army of volunteers \u2013 best event I\u2019ve been to in years. We will definitely be back next year!\u201d<\/p>\n
More than 200 volunteers, some from local organisations or who rocked up for the fun of it, worked tirelessly to make sure a great time was had by all.<\/p>\n
There was music on four stages all day and more than 100 food and market stalls offering local foods and produce, and wines and beers.<\/p>\n
Funds raised from this year\u2019s festival will be donated to local organisations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
