{"id":55319,"date":"2022-07-09T09:02:48","date_gmt":"2022-07-08T23:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/enrights-legacy-enshrined-as-a-cats-legend\/"},"modified":"2022-07-09T09:09:25","modified_gmt":"2022-07-08T23:09:25","slug":"enrights-legacy-enshrined-as-a-cats-legend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/enrights-legacy-enshrined-as-a-cats-legend\/","title":{"rendered":"Enright\u2019s legacy enshrined as a Cats Legend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">THREE-time premiership player Corey Enright has been named the 27th Legend in Geelong Cats history after he was bestowed the club\u2019s highest honour last night (Friday, July 8) at GMHBA Stadium.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enright is a six-time All-Australian (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2016) as well as a two-time club best and fairest winner in premiership years (2009 and 2011) \u2013 a feat that only Kevin Bartlett, Jason Dunstall, Simon Black, Josh Gibson, Michael Voss and Gary Ablett Jr have been able to do in VFL\/AFL history.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52826\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52826\" style=\"width: 449px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-52826\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/07\/2H3A3535-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"449\" height=\"299\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52826\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Corey Enright alongside wife Renee and two sons Tex and Boh.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Born in the rural South Australian town of Kimba and drafted in 1999 at pick 47, Enright would go on to become one of Geelong\u2019s most decorated players.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He began his Cats career in 2001, before he broke Ian Nankervis\u2019 club record of 325 games before retiring in 2016 after 332 appearances.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_52827\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52827\" style=\"width: 476px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-52827\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/21\/2022\/07\/B59H1163-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"476\" height=\"317\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52827\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">In 2017 Enright made a headline-making return to local footy playing for Barwon Heads.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cam Guthrie and Mark Blicavs etched their names in the Cats\u2019 ledger too, receiving Life Memberships at the Club, the first time since Malcolm Blight, Colin Carter and James Rahilly were inducted in 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since debuting in 2011, Guthrie has pulled on the hoops 221 times, with his breakout season in 2020 landing him his first Carji Greeves Medal and All-Australian blazer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blicavs also joined a select group of Cats when he became a multiple Carji Greeves Medallist in 2015 and 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bob Gartland was honoured as the 2022 recipient of the R.J.
