THE 9th annual Jack Rabbit Wreck2Reef Open Water Swim Classic will be held on Sunday February 11 a weekend after the Flying Brick Bellarine Sunset Run on February 3.<\/p>\n
Wreck2Reef is held in the stunning, protected waters of Half Moon Bay at Indented Head, offering some of the smoothest and safest water available to competitors in Port Phillip.<\/p>\n
Wreck2Reef also caters for all ages and abilities.<\/p>\n
In addition to the classic 1.2-kilometre swim, 300-metre junior dash and a short novice 500-metre swim introduced in 2017, this year will see a 2.5-kilometre swim added to the line-up of events.<\/p>\n
Open to all ages, the 2.5-kilometre swim will be held one hour earlier than the other events and all entrants must preregister.<\/p>\n
There is also a different starting point for this event, with transfers needed from the sign-up point.<\/p>\n
This swim course follows the Indented Head coastline, past the wreck of the Ozone paddlesteamer, and finishes at the same point as all other swims.<\/p>\n
All swimmers for the 2.5-kilometre must arrive by 8.15am. Check in will open at 7.30am, with the 2.5-kilometre starting at 9am.<\/p>\n
Time markers exist for this event with any swimmers not reaching the final turn mark \u2013 at two kilometres \u2013 for shore by 10.20am will be collected and returned to shore.<\/p>\n
