THE Borough of Queenscliffe has awarded more than 10 Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale and Swan Bay-based organisations with grants to enhance their communities.<\/p>\n
The 2022-23 round of funding announcements ranged from providing a cricket pitch cover for the Queenscliff Cricket Club to an energy efficiency audit program for the Queenscliffe Climate Action Group.<\/p>\n
“I know these funds will be put to great use by all of our lucky winners, and I’m looking forward to seeing those outcomes in the months ahead,” borough mayor Ross Ebbels said.<\/p>\n
The allocations night, held at Queenscliff Town Hall earlier this month, was hosted by Cr Ebbels and Cr Donnie Grigau.<\/p>\n
Cr Ebbels said community grants played a big part in fulfilling two of the major pillars in the borough’s community vision.<\/p>\n
“The program caters namely to enhancing health and wellbeing, and encouraging an inclusive and engaged community.<\/p>\n
“Everyone there on the night was the star of the show, we are simply here to help them accomplish those goals of galvanising our community in an inclusive manner.<\/p>\n
“We’re so glad that they are able to continually put forward in this annual grants process, because it allows council to continue to develop those symbiotic relationships.”<\/p>\n
The list of 2022-23 community grant recipients include:<\/p>\n
Queenscliffe Coast Guard \u2013 $1,091 for hand-held spotlights for their rescue vessel
\nCombined Probus Club of Queenscliffe \u2013 $500 for their Rugmakers craft group
\nQueenscliff Lonsdale Yacht Club \u2013 $2,000 for sailing dinghy equipment
\nQueenscliff Football Netball Club \u2013 $2,000 for a cricket pitch cover
\nQueenscliffe Maritime Museum \u2013 $1,369 for the safety and protection of artifacts
\nUniting Queenscliff \u2013 $650 for the men’s cooking night monthly community meal
\nQueenscliffe Neighbourhood House \u2013 $2,000 for the gallery 10-year celebrations
\nSwan Bay Environment Association \u2013 $1,512 for plant propagation tables
\nQueenscliffe Climate Action Group \u2013 $2,000 for an energy efficiency audit program
\nPoint Lonsdale Primary School \u2013 $1,989 for the Nippers in School program
\nQueenscliff Lighthouse Theatre Group \u2013 $2,000 for its 21st birthday celebrations, and
\nQueenscliffe Historical Museum \u2013 $1,500 for a touch-screen display.<\/p>\n
