Owner Arash Harandian said boat owners docked at the marina, holidaymakers staying in town and local small business owners filled the desks daily.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese are people who are either staying on their boat at the marina or in one of the many holiday accommodations around town who need to take a break to get some work done during their family holiday,\u201d Mr Harandian said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not easy to concentrate when everyone is having a fun time and making noise, and the Hub offers a retreat in a sense for people to focus on their work for a few hours and not interrupt their family holiday.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said demand for a space like this for those on holiday was so great that he had just announced a new partnership with Lorraine Golightly and the team at BIG4 Beacon Resort Queenscliff to be the Resort\u2019s official Business Hub for their guests.<\/p>\n
He said the growing participation from local sole traders and small business owners is a testament to a growing acceptance of the idea of shared workspaces.<\/p>\n
\u201cCo-working has been seen as very much a \u2018city thing\u2019 but regional business owners have just as much need for a professional work and meeting space as their Melbourne counterparts, and we are getting professionals and tradespeople alike coming in,\u201d Mr Harandian said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll soon be developing our new program of events to help business owners learn new skills and grow their operations in 2018.\u201d<\/p>\n
