PORTARLINGTON Demons Football Netball Club has experienced a busy off-season as the club prepares to climb the Bellarine Football League ladder in 2018.<\/p>\n
Since October, the Demons have announced a new chief executive officer and president in Andrew Aquilina, added some exciting talent to their playing list, appointed Adam Kiss as the new reserves coach and last week announced the signing of Adrian Carr as an assistant to second year senior coach Jesse Smith.<\/p>\n
Before Christmas, the Demons announced the signings of 11 players headlined by St Albans star Luke Williams.<\/p>\n
The Demons have also welcomed back former captain Rhys Davis and talented midfielder Brock Williamson.<\/p>\n
Aquilina has been involved with the Demons for more than 11 years, with his wife Kellie having represented the netball club in numerous roles, as both a player and on the committee.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving three children it is important that this club is viable in the years to come,\u201d Aquilina said.<\/p>\n
\u201cLocal sport is important for all kids and we need to make sure we have the teams and facilities to accommodate that.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving been involved in an indirect way for so long now I think it is important to stand up and help when you can.\u201d<\/p>\n
Carr is excited about the possibility of helping the Demons rise up the ladder and is committed for the long term.<\/p>\n
\u201cI would rather go to a club and spend a few years and it is more enjoyable in achieving something,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt appeals to me to build a club up and make a club successful.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to see the club have a lot of success over a long period of time such as what Geelong Amateur and Torquay have achieved.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
