{"id":62076,"date":"2022-11-21T04:11:09","date_gmt":"2022-11-20T17:11:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=62076"},"modified":"2024-07-12T12:43:58","modified_gmt":"2024-07-12T02:43:58","slug":"artworks-installed-for-queenscliff-arts-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/artworks-installed-for-queenscliff-arts-prize\/","title":{"rendered":"Artworks installed for Queenscliff Arts Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ALL 230 artworks involved in one of Australia&#8217;s largest outdoor art shows are on display at Queenscliff Pier.<\/p>\n<p>Queenscliff Art Prize curator Chris MacLeod said solar lights illuminate the artworks at Queenscliff Pier, allowing viewers to enjoy the exhibition during summer evenings.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the Queenscliff Art Prize features artworks by hundreds of artists from across Australia and supports artists with intellectual disabilities through working with QArt Gallery and the Endeavour Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition also showcases a school&#8217;s competition, with students from Sacred Heart College Geelong, Christian College Geelong, Lorne P-12 College and Apollo Bay P-12 College taking part.<\/p>\n<p>Event curator Chris MacLeod said he was proud of this year&#8217;s exhibition.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62078\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62078\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-62078\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/314124322_3461712597_42079.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"465\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62078\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Queenscliff Art Prize shares art from people from all around Australia and is arguably the biggest outdoor art exhibition in the country.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are very proud of the Queenscliff pier exhibition, and we have now put plans in place to further secure more lighting as we feel it creates a truly magical atmosphere for all to enjoy,&#8221; MacLeod said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We were disappointed to be advised by the local Queenscliff Parks team that around 10 of the solar lights fitted to the new artworks on the Queenscliff Pier had been stolen.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Hopefully there will be no further damage or theft to this truly unique outdoor gallery.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The much-loved Queenscliff Pier will no doubt attract a great many visitors over the summer, to see all of the exciting new art and photography entries.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_62082\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-62082\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-62082\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/11\/314392444_4997119254_51939.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"431\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-62082\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Art will also be exhibited by school children and intellectually disabled artists from the QArt Gallery and Endeavour Foundation.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s truly very exciting and for entries to be up from 120 last year to 230 in 2022-23 is great.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr MacLeod said entries for the prize had been second to none and he thanked all participants for their beautiful works.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition is on display until April 30, 2023, at the Queenscliff Pier on Weeroona Parade,Queenscliff, Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>More information is available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queenscliffartprize.com.au\/\">www.queenscliffartprize.com.au\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ALL 230 artworks involved in one of Australia&#8217;s largest outdoor art shows are on display at Queenscliff Pier.
