THE Borough of Queenscliffe Community Service Awards are back in 2023, crowning the region’s unsung heroes who make a difference to society.<\/p>\n

Nominations are now open for the awards, with locals encouraged to nominate who they think makes an outstanding contribution to their locality each year before the cut-off on February 19.<\/p>\n

The 2023 awards have been divided into two simplified categories \u2013 Citizen of the Year (now open age) and the Community Group of the Year award.<\/p>\n

All nominees will be formally recognised, with the winners celebrated at a community event which is set to be held for the first time during National Volunteers Week in May (15\u201321 May).<\/p>\n

Borough of Queenscliffe mayor Isabelle Tolhurst invited anyone who lives, works or volunteers in the region to be a part of the official nominations.<\/p>\n

“Without our community members contributing meaningful and ongoing community service, the Borough would not be the connected and caring place we all love,” Tolhurst said.<\/p>\n

“I regularly see community members and organisations step up to improve the lives of others, and these awards go a long way to recognise and celebrate such endeavours.”<\/p>\n

A borough reference group will judge the nominations against set criteria, then make recommendations on who should receive the title.<\/p>\n

Nominations are now open, and residents are encouraged to consider both individuals and organisations who are deserving of community service awards.<\/p>\n
