he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Australia Day Doggy Fashion Parade was really well attended, we had 19 entrants and 100+ enjoying watching from the Rotunda Forecourt and outdoor caf\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There was a huge colourful, noisy, eye catching procession of motorbikes and vintage cars along Newcombe Street which was also entertaining.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The live music from the Rotunda featured the band Wintersong medley of Australian songs and heartfelt music from Pepper Willow.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We also had 60 plus competitors who strived for a win in the Portarlington Bowls Club Social Bowls competition.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_64731\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-64731\" style=\"width: 400px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-64731\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/20230126_112905-1-1024x768.jpg?_t=1675206984\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/20230126_112905-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/20230126_112905-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/20230126_112905-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/20230126_112905-1-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/20230126_112905-1-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-64731\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A range of musicians played during the day&#8217;s festivities throughout Newcombe Street.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Cameron said the event was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but hopes to continue to build the celebration back to pre-pandemic levels which will continue as a predominantly outdoor event that the community can enjoy from the streets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HUNDREDS of people gathered in Newcombe Street in Portarlington on Thursday (January 26) to mark the Australia Day holiday, with activities, guest speakers and live entertainment for spectators to enjoy.
