{"id":64774,"date":"2023-02-03T04:00:15","date_gmt":"2023-02-02T17:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=64774"},"modified":"2023-02-03T04:00:15","modified_gmt":"2023-02-02T17:00:15","slug":"roadworks-to-cause-traffic-disruptions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/roadworks-to-cause-traffic-disruptions\/","title":{"rendered":"Roadworks to cause traffic disruptions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MAJOR roadworks are under way in in Armstrong Creek this month as contractors deliver improvements to Boundary Road and Horseshoe Bend Road.<\/p>\n<p>From February to June, Boundary Road will be closed to westbound traffic between Horseshoe Bend and Barwon Heads road in order to improve the road surface, which has &#8220;deteriorated significantly&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>City of Greater Geelong acting director of city services David Greaves said the roadworks may affect motorists&#8217; ability to travel in Armstrong Creek over the coming months, and advised them to plan ahead.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_91912\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-91912\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-91912 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/IMG_1342_78148-1-600x380.jpg?_t=1675224386\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-91912\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Signage has been put up along the stretch.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We recognise that Boundary Road has deteriorated significantly so it&#8217;s important that works get underway to widen and improve the road surface as soon as possible,&#8221; Mr Greaves said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The works by developers will also include the delivery of new footpaths, curb, street lighting, gas mains, and water mains.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We thank everyone for their patience and ask drivers to consider adding extra time to their journey while the road closures are in place.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The roadworks will also cause delays and closures to those travelling on Hilltop Drive, Lyanna Way, Swanburra Drive and Worn Road.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_91914\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-91914\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-91914 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/02\/IMG_1337_78157-1-600x380.jpg?_t=1675224463\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-91914\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Works will also affect and bring closures to those travelling on Hilltop Drive, Lyanna Way, Swanburra Drive and Worn Road.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Greyjoy Road, Lilirose Drive, Ambitious Avenue, Walter Street and segments of Hilltop Drive will provide optional detours for local traffic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Planned infrastructure works at Sparrovale Drain will also be undertaken at this time.<\/p>\n<p>Emergency services will continue to have access to all properties and traffic management will be in place to ensure Banksia and Ashbury Estate residents can get access to their homes.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/geelongaustralia.com.au\/roads\/default.aspx\">geelongaustralia.com.au\/roads\/default.aspx<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MAJOR roadworks are under way in in Armstrong Creek this month as contractors deliver improvements to Boundary Road and Horseshoe Bend Road.
