{"id":65635,"date":"2023-02-27T04:00:33","date_gmt":"2023-02-26T17:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=65635"},"modified":"2023-02-23T09:13:25","modified_gmt":"2023-02-22T22:13:25","slug":"bellarine-township-to-feature-in-next-map-masterpiece","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/bellarine-township-to-feature-in-next-map-masterpiece\/","title":{"rendered":"Bellarine township to feature in next map masterpiece"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Melbourne Map&#8217;s next project has been revealed with a Bellarine town to become the sole focus of more than 1,000 hours of work.<\/p>\n<p>Founder of The Melbourne Map Melinda Clarke confirmed she and her team, including illustrator Deborah Young, and colourist Sean Rodwell, were drafting a Portarlington Map.<\/p>\n<p>Following four years of work on the business&#8217; most recent release, The Bellarine Map, the Portarlington Map will shine a spotlight on one of the Bellarine&#8217;s towns and featuring several key landmarks such as Portarlington&#8217;s Grand Hotel, Portarlington Pier and the town&#8217;s shopping strip on Newcombe Street.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The detail of Portarlington didn&#8217;t feature in The Bellarine Map, and the area is so popular we decided to dedicate some time to this new project,&#8221; Ms Clarke said.<\/p>\n<p>The Bellarine Map, which was released last year, features thousands of vignettes from Bellarine townships including Queenscliff, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads, St Leonards, Indented Head, Portarlington, Drysdale, Leopold, a touch of Geelong and much more.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 326px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/02\/DeborahandMelinda_98368.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"488\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Map producer Melinda Clarke and illustrator Deborah Young have begun their next big project.
