“The Oncology nurses were so supportive of me during my treatment, particularly over the first few weeks,” she said.<\/p>\n
“I did not cope mentally but they sat with me, comforted me and explained things in detail to assist me to cope.<\/p>\n
“They work incredibly long hours sometimes doing double shifts and then coming back the next day.<\/p>\n
“It was not the doctors who were keeping me alive, it was the nurses and without them I, and many others would not be here.<\/p>\n
“I have been inspired and I want to profile them and support them by offering this scholarship.”<\/p>\n

Mrs Ebejer said that the funds raised will be vital in making a difference so that more people can get the best possible treatment they can in the Geelong region.<\/p>\n
Locals can support the cause by buying tickets to the gala ball, providing raffle or silent auction prizes or via private donation.<\/p>\n
Tickets for the ball can be purchased through Eventbrite – Gala Ball – Nurse appreciation \u2013 Geelong for $160 each.<\/p>\n
