NEWCOMB Football Netball Club continues to lead from the front in both junior football and netball programs across the AFL Barwon region, with more initiatives on the horizon at Grinter Reserve.<\/p>\n
Power junior co-ordinator Scott Smith said there were several programs either beginning or resuming in 2023.<\/p>\n
“We’re going to finish our All-Abilities Auskicker sessions with more numbers than last year and we’re really proud of that.<\/p>\n
“Powerkick will start in Term 2, and we already have people enquiring, for boys and girls 8-16 years old.<\/p>\n
“Adding to that, our Inclusion Team has begun training with their first game set for April 29 under the lights at GMHBA Stadium.”<\/p>\n
Newcomb FC’s NetSetGo program will kick off in Term 2 for the season with one of the club’s new programs, Powerpass, to begin shortly.<\/p>\n
The Power’s new inclusion team will start its Winter Season fresh off winning the Summer League a fortnight ago.<\/p>\n
Smith said the club would lead the charge in various schools programs.<\/p>\n
“We will lead programs at Whittington, Newcomb, Geelong East, Tate St, Christ the King and Moolap Primary Schools, a total of over 130 clinics with help from AFL Victoria to put footies in hands and get kids active.<\/p>\n
“The club is working to ensure everyone in the 3219 community has the chance to participate in sport.”<\/p>\n
The School Programs will finalise with a Super Clinic at Newcomb Power on Wednesday April 5, expected to invite 1,100 students participating in a football clinic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
