THE Ocean Grove branch of the Salvation Army’s popular chain of thrift shops is a little short-staffed, and is keen to have a few more people on its roster.<\/p>\n
The Salvos Thift Shop in Marine Parade is open six days a week and has issued a call for more volunteers to help out, particularly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.<\/p>\n
“Our store cannot consistently accept donations without the help of our incredible volunteers each day, and we need a few more hands on deck to continue to service our local community!” the shop posted on its official Facebook page earlier this month.<\/p>\n
“If you have a spare day in your week, we would love to meet you.”<\/p>\n
The shop offers affordable second-hand clothing, furniture and household goods, with funds raised going directly back into the community to support needy families on the Bellarine Peninsula.<\/p>\n
The latest request for help follows a similar post in January, when the shop offered limited opportunities to volunteer in roles including driving, sorting, test and tagging, the online shop and social media.<\/p>\n
There are more than 350 Salvos retail outlets across Australia.<\/p>\n
