Photos: SUPPLIED<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The $65.6 million facility is being delivered in a funding partnership between the City of Greater Geelong ($48.84 million), Victorian government ($8.5 million) and federal government ($8.26 million).<\/p>\n<p>As part of the construction, Waterworld will need to close around the middle of this year.<\/p>\n<p>The city&#8217;s Swim, Sport and Leisure team will offer alternative services for Waterworld members during the closure, including a pop-up gym service at Corio Leisuretime Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Waterworld members also have entry rights at the five other Swim, Sport and Leisure centres across Greater Geelong \u2013 Leisurelink, Splashdown, Bellarine Aquatic &amp; Sports Centre, Kardinia Aquatic Centre and Lara Swimming Pool (seasonal).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-98073 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/03\/230314NACHDroneimage_20035-600x380.jpg?_t=1680152172\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This benefit will not change and Waterworld members will have access to all of these centres.<\/p>\n<p>To stay up to date about the construction progress of the Northern Aquatic and Community Hub, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/geelongaustralia.com.au\/northernhub\">geelongaustralia.com.au\/northernhub<\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can also see the progress of the build through specially cut viewing portals in the fencing around the site, on the corner of Cox Road and the Princes Highway.<\/p>\n<p>The city says it looks forward to welcoming the community through the doors in 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><strong><em>\/\/ Sponsored Content<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>THE new Northern Aquatic and Community Hub in Norlane is nearing the halfway point of construction.
