“The girls have been gelling together really well so far,” Grayson said.<\/p>\n
“Our more experienced girls have played a key role in leading the squad, particularly towards our younger players and just providing that element of calmness on the floor.”<\/p>\n
The Chargers had a blistering start to the season, emerging victorious in their first four contests (included one forfeit) but have dropped two of their past four outings.<\/p>\n
Now sitting in third place on the ladder and freshly rested thanks to a week off in Round 7, the Chargers will host Collingwood in a bid to climb into second spot on the standings.<\/p>\n
“Collingwood has a new import, so we don’t know a whole lot about what she brings to the game,” Grayson said.<\/p>\n
“We’ll need to limit her impact without a doubt and do what we did last time we played Collingwood which was running the floor and pushing the pace at both ends.”<\/p>\n
Chargers guard Cortney Hollowood is enjoying an MVP-calibre season at the moment averaging 21.4 points, five rebounds and five assists.<\/p>\n
Kim Hammond and Jess Scannell are putting up valuable contributions, averaging 15 and 14 points respectively, as well as 14 and 11 rebounds each.<\/p>\n
Grayson also mentioned Jordyn Yeoman’s ability to shut down star players defensively.<\/p>\n
