BARWON Heads\u2019 Mitchell Gourley will compete in para-alpine skiing at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympic Games, which start next week.<\/p>\n
Corangamite federal member Sarah Henderson congratulated Mitchell on his tremendous achievement in representing Australia on the international stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cI congratulate all our athletes named in our Winter Paralympics team, but especially Mitchell who makes us doubly proud as he has been named a team captain as well,\u201d Ms Henderson said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know Mitchell will give his very best in South Korea next month when he represents our community and Australia.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ms Henderson said the stories of endeavour and ambition were everywhere and the entire nation was looking forward to celebrating these journeys and the achievements of the 2018 team.<\/p>\n
Australia\u2019s athletes will compete in alpine skiing and snowboarding.<\/p>\n
They will be led by team captains, World Champion skier Gourley and multiple World Cup-winning snowboarder Joany Badenhorst.<\/p>\n
Almost 700 athletes from 50 countries are expected to compete at the PyeongChang Paralympic Winter Games, staged from March 9-18.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
