OCEAN Grove\u2019s Alice Moon says she believes shaving her head is a great way to raise money for children and families affected by blood cancer.<\/p>\n
Alice, 12, is taking part in the Leukaemia Foundation\u2019s World\u2019s Greatest Shave and will undergo the shavers at Strapper Surf in Ocean Grove on Friday March 16.<\/p>\n
Alice said she was only in Prep when she decided she wanted to shave her head for charity.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was a young grade prep girl when I clearly remember a Grade 6 girl doing it at my school and thought it was the coolest thing to do,\u201d Alice said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI nagged my mum to do it for two years and she finally agreed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI enjoy helping people and believe this is a way for me to contribute to helping children and their families in this challenging situation.<\/p>\n
\u201cAfter all it is only hair and mine will grow back \u2013 I\u2019m super lucky.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alice hopes to raise $700, and has almost reached her goal.<\/p>\n
Dom Spiller from Park Lane Men\u2019s Hairdressing will shave her head, and is donating $1 from every hair cut he performs until March 16 to the World\u2019s Greatest Shave.<\/p>\n
The event is on Friday March 16 at 5pm.<\/p>\n
