{"id":74166,"date":"2023-08-10T10:44:13","date_gmt":"2023-08-10T00:44:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=74166"},"modified":"2023-08-10T10:44:13","modified_gmt":"2023-08-10T00:44:13","slug":"register-updates-community-at-information-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/register-updates-community-at-information-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Register updates community at information day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FIRST responders, community groups, and Bellarine locals have spread the message of safety as part of a new recruiting drive.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from Victoria Police&#8217;s Bellarine station, Bellarine Community Health, Cherished Pets, Kings Funerals and Benefits Geelong, as well as Bellarine residents, attended the Bellarine Community Support Register (BCSR) Information Day.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 287px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/08\/366259942_6462302674_47602.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"287\" height=\"382\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Benefit Geelong provided grant funding for the Bellarine Community Support Register to help run the information day.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The day, hosted at the Bellarine Training &amp; Community Hub in Ocean Grove, was held on Monday this week to provide the community with an update of what is happening with the register, as well as signing up new registrants.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We raise the profile of the BCSR with information days like this, but I think the health of the register at the moment is very high,&#8221; BCSR president Leonie Saundry said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 485px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/08\/366289138_6463099674_47614.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"485\" height=\"412\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Victoria Police Bellarine branch officers such as Senior Sergeant Adrian Bickley also attended the Bellarine Community Support Register event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8220;However, the health of the register is almost entirely reliant on the people who can come to us and sign up on the register.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;So, it&#8217;s important for us to continue to sign up registrants and we&#8217;ve expanded our scope to do that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 393px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/08\/366243039_6463102274_47742.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"393\" height=\"454\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Bellarine Community Health has long been a major supporter of the register.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The register signed up its 3,000th registrant at the end of June and Ms Saundry said almost a dozen new registrants signed up to the service after the information day.<\/p>\n<p>To find out more about the register, or to join, email bpsupportregister@bigpond.com<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FIRST responders, community groups, and Bellarine locals have spread the message of safety as part of a new recruiting drive.
