QUEENSCLIFF’S recently opened community hub closed for maintenance this week, with the Borough of Queenscliffe expecting the facility to reopen to the public this weekend.<\/p>\n
The Queenscliffe Hub, known as Wirrng Wirrng, has been closed since Monday for construction works.<\/p>\n
The Hesse Street facility hosts Queenscliffe Historical Museum and the town’s Visitor Information Centre and library, all of which were shut to the public this week.<\/p>\n
The library continued online services while the Visitor Information Centre fielded enquires via phone and the council’s website.<\/p>\n
The borough indicated during the week that the hub was set to re-open tomorrow (Saturday, August 19).<\/p>\n
“Important maintenance works are to be undertaken at Wirrng Wirrng (Queenscliffe Hub) that require the closure of the building for five days,” it stated.<\/p>\n
“We recognise there is never a good time to close a community building and we apologise in advance for the disruption.<\/p>\n
“The Hub will be closed for the week starting Monday, August 14 and reopen Saturday, August 19.<\/p>\n
“Thank you for your understanding and patience as we complete the works.”<\/p>\n
The community facilities started operation out of the new Hub late last year.<\/p>\n
