U3A Surf Coast has announced its 500th enrolment after just four years of operation.<\/p>\n
Patricia Hickford, who has lived in Anglesea for the past 59 years and volunteered with U3A Geelong, has now joined Torquay\u2019s local and rapidly expanding voluntary, not-for-profit organisation U3A, part of the worldwide University of the Third Age network.<\/p>\n
Patricia is a typical U3A member, bringing a wealth of experience with her 15 years in local government as well as volunteer experienced in Red Cross and Barwon Health.<\/p>\n
U3A Surf Coast offers older residents around 20 classes and activities during each school term, covering arts, humanities, languages, science, exercise, lifestyle and computers, as well as yearlong classes, short courses and occasional lectures.<\/p>\n
Patricia\u2019s interest is in politics and she will join the popular \u201cArmchair Politics\u201d course with Robyn Maynard on Wednesdays.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m just keen to learn more,\u201d Patricia said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m looking forward to sharing my knowledge in politics and meeting the many other members at U3A Surf Coast.\u201d<\/p>\n
