The Council temporarily approved the changing of Hesse Street to &#8216;HesSEA Street&#8217; for the day in-line with the parade theme.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>School librarian and the parade&#8217;s driving force, Angela Ritchie was overjoyed by the effort made by each of St Aloysius&#8217; 82 pupils.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was absolutely fantastic,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The students were super excited for the day, and the turnout at the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre (MFDC), where they started in the morning, was equally amazing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It lit my heart up to see so many students embracing Book Week.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 562px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/08\/IMG_2886_02471.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"562\" height=\"375\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The parade goes past Queenscliff&#8217;s shops.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Children&#8217;s Book Week, coordinated by The Children&#8217;s Book Council of Australia, was held from August 19 to 25 with 2023&#8217;s theme being &#8220;Read, grow, inspire&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Students began the day at the MFDC, where they received a special reading by Dr Prue Francis from her own book, The Great Southern Reef.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_30038\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-30038\" style=\"width: 628px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/08\/IMG_2945_02483.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"628\" height=\"419\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-30038\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">School librarian Angela Ritchie (in white) leads the parade up Hesse Street.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The cohort then walked back to school and enjoyed recess, before making their way to Queenscliff&#8217;s main shopping precinct on Hesse Street.
