{"id":7568,"date":"2018-03-07T03:52:06","date_gmt":"2018-03-07T03:52:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=7568"},"modified":"2018-03-12T06:42:05","modified_gmt":"2018-03-12T06:42:05","slug":"seniors-play-lawn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/seniors-play-lawn\/","title":{"rendered":"Seniors play at the \u2019Lawn!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SENIOR tennis players took to the grass courts at Geelong Lawn on Sunday February 25 for the second event on the Tennis Seniors Victoria calendar, with 45 participants playing.<\/p>\n<p>There are 15 events set to take place this year, at venues from as far apart and including Ballarat and Yarrawonga, just to name a couple.<\/p>\n<p>Players from the age of 35 to 100 are eligible to enter events in this series, which sees doubles with a changing partners format and for the fit and dedicated, there\u2019s singles.<\/p>\n<p>Players are graded into A, B and C grades.<\/p>\n<p>True to form, the Geelong Lawn tournament drew players locally and from all over the state, keen to play on those fantastic grass courts.<\/p>\n<p>The weather was spot-on, and some highly competitive matches took place.<\/p>\n<p>The next event is the Oceania Championships, Senior Tennis Australia at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club from (tomorrow) Friday March 9 \u2013 Monday March 12.<\/p>\n<p>For information and the Tennis Seniors Victoria tournament calendar for 2018, email Dick Bartley on dickbartley08@gmail.com or phone 0400 858 396.
