Today was his 270<sup>th<\/sup> career game.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drysdale threw the first punch of the contest, knocking in three goals to lead 20-11 at the opening break, before Torquay evened things up with six second-quarter goals to draw up a three-point lead at half time, leading 48-45.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The thousands who attended the game from both towns were privy to a back-and-forth contest through three quarters, with Drysdale leading 63-64 at three-quarter-time on the back of more Jake Hargreaves magic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_116376\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116376\" style=\"width: 801px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-116376 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/2H3A4964-2-scaled.jpg?_t=1694249442\" alt=\"\" width=\"801\" height=\"534\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-116376\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Tigers sing the song in the middle of Grinter Reserve.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tigers coach Dom Gleeson inspired his side out of the final break, with Les Ash Medal runner-up Lucas Anderson and Torquay young gun Nathan Mifsud grabbing a hold of the contest in the final term.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drysdale was limited to just two majors in the final term, as Torquay ran away with a seven-goal blitz in the fourth, running away 32-point winners and claiming the club\u2019s ninth premiership in its 71-year history, its first since 2017.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mifsud was named best-on-ground for his six goals in the contest.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_116375\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116375\" style=\"width: 756px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-116375 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/2H3A4752-scaled.jpg?_t=1694249374\" alt=\"\" width=\"756\" height=\"504\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-116375\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torquay co-captains Ben McNamara, James Darke and coach Dom Gleeson lift the premiership cup.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Gleeson addressed his side in the change room following the final siren with a speech for Raidme, saying he would\u00a0be remembered as a legend of the club.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Raidme concluded his own speech to his teammates and supporters with four words: \u201cI love this club\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_116378\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-116378\" style=\"width: 780px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-116378 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/09\/IMG_4963-scaled.jpg?_t=1694249828\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"520\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-116378\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Torquay clubman Ben Raidme has announced his retirement from local football. Photo: VINNIE VAN OORSCHOT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI know Torquay means so much to Ben,\u201d Gleeson said post-game.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe\u2019s had an unbelievable career; he\u2019s a great mate and he deserves to go out like that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere\u2019s no fairy tales in footy, and I felt like that last year losing a grand final horribly, but he did, he got that fairy tale and I love that for him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anderson matched Mifsud with six goals in another sensational performance from the key forward. Tim Carty and Raidme, fittingly as the two most senior players on the list, scored Torquay\u2019s two remaining goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Drysdale\u2019s Hargreaves kicked four on the day, while Ben Fennell kicked three.
