TWO Ocean Grove residents will highlight women’s empowerment, sustainable fashion practices, and important charitable initiatives at an upcoming fashion show this weekend.<\/p>\n
Local Ocean Grove businesswomen Sarah Donaldson of The Beauty Queen Face & Body and Tarryn Stanley of Ocean Rental Boutique will lead an afternoon of fun, fashion, and creative minds at their Spring Fashion Carnival at Ocean Grove Surf Lifesaving Club this Sunday from 3pm.<\/p>\n
The show will promote several talented fashion and cosmetic businesses from across the Bellarine, while showcasing rental fashion trends.<\/p>\n
“It’s about seeing women light up when they’re in beautiful dresses, and it will be an all-inclusive event showcasing women of all ages in all shapes and sizes,” Ms Donaldson said.<\/p>\n
“We’ll have nine local models headlining the fashion show with makeup done by Jess from Complete Face Cosmetics.<\/p>\n
“But the crux of the event is women supporting women.”<\/p>\n
The event will also raise awareness and donations for the Happy Boxes Project.<\/p>\n
The Happy Boxes Project builds and dispatches thousands of care packages to women in Aboriginal communities.<\/p>\n
Boxes include a collection of toiletries and beauty products such as, shampoo, soap, deodorant, pads, tampons, and toothpaste or luxury self-care items.<\/p>\n
Ms Stanley said the lead-up to the event has been both stressful but exciting at the same time.<\/p>\n
“We know it’s going to be a beautiful afternoon; all of our friends will be coming to support us, and we did a soft launch a couple a months ago to see how it would go,” Ms Stanley said.<\/p>\n
“We’re looking forward to having something in Ocean Grove again promoting circular fashion trends.<\/p>\n
“A lot of local businesses have been really supportive leading up to the event as well, we have half a dozen business backing us for the event too.<\/p>\n
“It should be wonderful afternoon with lovely women, drinks, canap\u00e9s, and gorgeous fashion.”<\/p>\n
