THE Board of Bellarine Community Health has announced that the Eric Tolliday units at the Queenscliff Community Health Centre site in Point Lonsdale will stay.<\/p>\n
The board recently held its first meeting of the year, formally welcoming three new community members as directors. Among the first items for discussion by the new-look board was the future of the Eric Tolliday units at the Queenscliff Community Health Centre site in Point Lonsdale.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Eric Tolliday units were discussed at length, and the board unanimously voted to shelve the proposed Independent Living Units indefinitely and to establish a Project Committee to investigate the refurbishment of the units, project inclusive of design, costs, models of management, and use,\u201d BCH board chair Margaret Belfrage said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe board considered the overwhelming feedback received during last year\u2019s \u2018Community Conversations\u2019 around the future of the units and as a result, a Board Special Projects Committee has now been established to explore options for design, costs and management of the units.\u201d<\/p>\n
The project group will consider community input around the intended use of the units, taking into account the Borough of Queenscliff usage and permit conditions.<\/p>\n
\u201cBellarine Community Health appreciates the community\u2019s desire to see all the Eric Tolliday units in operation again,\u201d Ms Belfrage said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe now need to take the time to carefully consider what the best options are moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n
