{"id":76787,"date":"2023-09-28T04:00:50","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T18:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=76787"},"modified":"2023-09-27T14:59:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T04:59:37","slug":"pooches-to-parade-in-portarlington","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/pooches-to-parade-in-portarlington\/","title":{"rendered":"Pooches to parade in Portarlington"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE Bellarine&#8217;s cutest pooches will descend on Portarlington tomorrow morning for the annual AFL Grand Final Eve Doggy Fashion Parade.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the Portarlington Community Information Booth and the Woofers and Walkers Responsible Dog Owners Group, the seventh edition of the popular community event will kick off at 11am.<\/p>\n<p>Dogs of all breeds and ages will be out to impress in their favourite AFL team colours.<\/p>\n<p>Numerous prizes including the marquee Best in Parade title will be up for grabs from the judges.<\/p>\n<p>Previous winners have portrayed footballers like Gary Ablett Jr or dazzled their way to victory by dressing as a hot dog.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_76790\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-76790\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-76790 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/TrungBellarineSep242_64694.jpg?_t=1695790478\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"443\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/TrungBellarineSep242_64694.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/TrungBellarineSep242_64694-300x221.jpg 300w, https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2023\/09\/TrungBellarineSep242_64694-768x567.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-76790\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Last year&#8217;s premiers the Geelong Cats were a popular choice at the 2022 Doggie Fashion Parade.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Woofers and Walkers group secretary Julie Elterman said they were expecting more than 20 dogs in today&#8217;s parade.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s certainly become a great tradition over the years!<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are privileged to have had some top support from our local business community who have gone over and beyond to provide prizes for the event.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our judges have been doing it for a number of years and love it.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a really fun thing and has rolled along really nicely.
