{"id":77425,"date":"2023-10-20T04:00:36","date_gmt":"2023-10-19T17:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=77425"},"modified":"2023-10-20T04:00:36","modified_gmt":"2023-10-19T17:00:36","slug":"kids-funfest-to-launch-childrens-week","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/kids-funfest-to-launch-childrens-week\/","title":{"rendered":"Kids FunFest to launch Children&#8217;s Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL entertainers will dazzle crowds at the Kids Funfest event on Monday (October 23) at Leopold\u2019s Memorial Park.<\/p>\n<p>The City of Greater Geelong signature pre-school event will launch Children\u2019s Week, a national celebration from October 21 to 29, which recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.<\/p>\n<p>Dazzling Dan the Magic Man, Bepop Circus and Nicholas Ridicuolous will be among the headline acts showcasing their talents.<\/p>\n<p>Larissa\u2019s Imaginarium project, Hoop Fusion, AFL Barwon, Wathaurong, MELI, Geelong Regional Library, Webstar swim school and Leopold Primary School will also run activations on the day.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Trent Sullivan said the City was delighted to be supporting the Kids FunFest alongside an additional 20 local community events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI believe that the broad selection of City-supported events dovetails nicely with the wider theme for this year that \u2018Children have the right to relax, play and take part in activities they enjoy\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCouncil recognises the need to support a community that gives children the opportunity to celebrate their early years, and there\u2019s certainly plenty of opportunities for our young ones and their families to play, learn and grow together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Inclusion and Care portfolio chair, Sarah Hathway encouraged families to attend as many of the inclusive activities as possible.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChildren of different ages look for different activities to engage and entertain them.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI encourage all parents to take the time to look through the entire program and find the appropriate events for their children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For the full program of Children\u2019s Week events across Geelong head to, <a href=\"http:\/\/geelongaustralia.com.au\/childrensweek\"><strong>geelongaustralia.com.au\/childrensweek<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>LOCAL entertainers will dazzle crowds at the Kids Funfest event on Monday (October 23) at Leopold\u2019s Memorial Park.
