A highlight of the Bellarine Arts Trail, internationally recognised artist Alison Fincher will again open her studio to the public.<\/p>\n

Based in Barwon Heads, Fincher creates paintings that are a celebration of art and nature, with the Bellarine Peninsula serving as a key source of inspiration for much of her work.<\/p>\n

Encompassing water, land, people and life, her diverse subject matter captures the essence of the region’s beauty.<\/p>\n

Next month, Fincher’s studio will be open for four days, including the Bellarine Arts Trail dates of November 4-5 and the following two days of November 6-7.<\/p>\n

Fincher’s work primarily features watercolours and acrylics, with watercolour techniques applied to both mediums.<\/p>\n

“This allows me to capture the unplanned, impromptu effects that characterise the watercolour style,” she said.<\/p>\n

“I sometimes use watercolours and acrylics together, developing unstructured, layered washes on larger canvases that reflect my loose watercolour paintings on paper.”<\/p>\n

Watercolours in a variety of sizes, both framed and unframed, as well as larger “wateracrylics” on canvas will be on display and available for purchase from the studio.<\/p>\n

Fincher’s range of art cards will also be available.<\/p>\n

Through 2023, Fincher’s work has been displayed both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

“My painting ‘Beach Path’ was exhibited at the annual international watercolour exhiition ‘FabrianolnAcquarello 2023’ in Italy, along with works from 80 different countries,” she said.<\/p>\n

Her painting “Low Tide” has also been recognised at a major national, bi-annual watercolour event<\/p>\n

“‘Low Tide’ was awarded one of a small group of selected ‘Best in Muster’ works at the Australian Watercolour Muster 2023,” she said.<\/p>\n

One of Fincher’s paintings has also been included in the Bellarine Arts Trail’s Taste of the Trail exhibition at the Arts Hub on Clifford Parade in Barwon Heads.<\/p>\n

The Taste of the Trail exhibition is now open to the public and will run until November 7.<\/p>\n

Fincher’s studio is located at 21 River Parade, Barwon Heads and will be open from 10am-4pm each of the four days.<\/p>\n

Appointments to view the studio can be arranged outside of scheduled events.<\/p>\n
