A NATIONAL motor event will roar into Queenscliff over the next four days (Friday, November 10 to Monday, November 13) providing a once in a generation opportunity for car enthusiasts across the Surf Coast, Geelong, and the Bellarine.<\/p>\n
Over 300 vintage Holden cars will make their way to the Borough of Queenscliffe tomorrow as part of the 2023 HK HT HG Holden Nationals, a four-day event shuffled between states each year.<\/p>\n
HK HT HG Holden Owners Club of Victoria president Cherie Smith called Queenscliff the cruising capital of Victoria, making it the ideal event location for the next four days.<\/p>\n
“We can’t wait for the Nationals to arrive in Queenscliff,” Ms Smith said.<\/p>\n
“Queenscliff is a beautiful location, and our excitement levels right now are off the charts, because we understand this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.<\/p>\n
“This event won’t return to Victoria for at least six years and when it does, it won’t return to Queenscliff, so we recognise how special these four days will be and we can’t wait to enjoy the very best of what the region has to offer.”<\/p>\n
The Nationals converge automotive passion and Australian culture, highlighting the very best of Australian-made Holdens manufactured between 1968 to 1971 \u2013 the historic HK, HT, and HG series.<\/p>\n
The inaugural HK HT HG Holden Nationals was held in Adelaide’s Barossa region and attracted over 250 entrants.<\/p>\n
Victoria’s turn to host the event for the first time in 2020 was postponed twice due to the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing the Nationals to be postponed to 2023.<\/p>\n
Day One (Friday) will involve vehicles gathering in Queenscliff for a Meet n Greet at the Queenscliff Brewhouse.<\/p>\n
Day Two (Saturday) provides an opportunity for the general public to peruse the endless variety of Holdens taking part in this year’s Nationals, with the Show and Shine to take place from 10am to 2pm.<\/p>\n
Ms Smith says everyone in attendance will stop what they’re doing on Saturday at 11am and pay their respects to fallen armed service personnel as part of the Remembrance Day commemorations.<\/p>\n
Day Three (Sunday) will provide a series of driving activities such as the Drive and Go Seek point score observation run, which encourages drivers to explore the region’s best landmarks.<\/p>\n
The Nationals’ grand finale takes place on Day Four (Monday) with all drivers to undertake The Great KTG Ocean Road Cruise along the Great Ocean Road.<\/p>\n
Organisers confirmed entrants from Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania, and New Zealand will be among the visitors.<\/p>\n
