{"id":78602,"date":"2023-11-24T04:00:52","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T17:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=78602"},"modified":"2023-11-24T04:00:52","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T17:00:52","slug":"bones-fighters-kick-goals-on-professional-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/sport\/bones-fighters-kick-goals-on-professional-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Bones fighters kick goals on professional debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BONES MMA returned with a strong win, a controversial draw and a narrow loss from the Roots 24: Welcome to Jamrock professional Muay Thai tournament on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>21-year-old Jaiven Callendar and 18-year-old Tom &#8220;Maxibon&#8221; Murphy both made their professional debut, while famous Thai fighter Teerapat Mahamongkol Jomtong fought under Bones MMA for his international bout at the Melbourne Pavilllion in Kensington.<\/p>\n<p>Callendar, who has been fighting out of Bones MMA for the past year, had a tough battle with England&#8217;s Jack Windsor from Supafight Gym, St Kilda.<\/p>\n<p>He was able to listen perfectly to instructions from coach Matt Williams and execute &#8220;a perfect fight&#8221;.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_121739\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-121739\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-121739 \" style=\"font-size: 1rem;\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/IMG_6502.jpg?_t=1700531567\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"320\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-121739\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Callendar has been fighting out of Bones MMA since 2022.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Using a lethal right kick, the Bones MMA fighter wore down his opponent and took the overall points decision.<\/p>\n<p>Murphy unfortunately fell short of a maiden victory against hot prospect Dan Arrayo from Canberra.<\/p>\n<p>In what was a brutal and bloody fight, the 18-year-old landed several strong kicks and elbow on his opponent, but was not given the overall points by the judging panel.<\/p>\n<p>Mahamongkol, who is presently training at Bones MMA in Torquay, is a One Championship, RWS and Channel 7 Stadium title holder and has had 135 professional fights for 94 wins, and drew with his opponent.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_121838\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-121838\" style=\"width: 678px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-121838 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/401834895_730718912427417_8664280042817977740_n-e1700627926441.jpg?_t=1700627931\" alt=\"\" width=\"678\" height=\"300\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-121838\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mahamongkol (middle) had a draw in his first international fight.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bones MMA co-owner Matt Williams said he was very proud of his three fighters.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jaiven was the first fight of the day and all the things we worked on throughout the camp, he did perfectly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a complete 10 out of 10 performance on debut from him.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I felt like I had a PlayStation remote in my hand. Everything I said, he&#8217;d do it instantly. We&#8217;ve now called him Jaiven &#8216;PS1&#8217; Callendar.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Tommy was brave on debut and fought hard against someone who was seven years his major.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He lost the first two rounds, and was probably a bit outmuscled, however he landed some amazing elbows to really bust his opponent late in the fight.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;He was still the talk of the card, everyone loved what he was about.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Mahamongkol&#8217;s fight was a bit controversial;
