{"id":78819,"date":"2023-12-01T04:00:58","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T17:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=78819"},"modified":"2023-12-01T04:00:58","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T17:00:58","slug":"grovedale-hotel-secure-the-gold-at-national-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/grovedale-hotel-secure-the-gold-at-national-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Grovedale Hotel secure the gold at national awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The team at The Grovedale Hotel are charging their glasses after winning the Overall Hotel of the Year (Regional) title at the 2023 Australian Hotels Association National Awards of Excellence.<\/p>\n<p>More than 650 VIPS and industry guests gathered at the famous Adelaide Oval for the annual awards on Monday event to award winners in more than 35 different categories.<\/p>\n<p>The Grovedale establishment secured their first national award for Overall Hotel of the Year (Regional) after being a national finalist and state winner in 2019 and 2023.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122310\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-122310\" style=\"width: 599px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-122310 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/IMG_9366-scaled.jpg?_t=1701214509\" alt=\"\" width=\"599\" height=\"399\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-122310\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">From left to right are gaming manager Ness Vicars, venue manager Jaydon Wong and general manager Joel Taylor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The venue also took home the Best National Gaming Venue (Regional) title, capping off a huge night for the Taylor Group who have run the hotel for 17 years.<\/p>\n<p>The Grovedale Hotel general manager, Joel Taylor said his management was ecstatic with the suite of prestigious awards.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are absolutely stoked, I\u2019m buzzing,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo be recognised on a national scale for this category is something we haven\u2019t had before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve always had a strong focus on our culture of the people at our hotels, and we\u2019ve got longstanding management at Grovedale who have done an amazing job.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve continued from what I started a few years ago, and just taken it to another level, which is just huge.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122312\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-122312\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-122312 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/IMG_9331-scaled.jpg?_t=1701214555\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-122312\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Grovedale Hotel team outside the pub on the Surf Coast Highway.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mr Taylor said the Overall Hotel of the Year (Regional) award was hotly contested, with judges eyeing even the smallest of details to separate finalists from the winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey look at things like if they were greeted at the door, how they were spoken to on the phone, could they find the information as well as food, service, drinks and so on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s quite a detailed category, so to come out on top and tick all those boxes is quite amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_122313\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-122313\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-122313 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/11\/IMG_9417_18339_tn.jpg?_t=1701214558\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-122313\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Pioneer Kitchen at The Grovedale Hotel.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Taylor Group was also a finalist for the Best Live Entertainment Venue (Regional) for the Torquay Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>Over on the Bellarine, the Portarlington Grand Hotel was victorious in the Best Redeveloped Hotel &#8211; General Division.<\/p>\n<p>For a full list of winners, head to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ahanationalawards.com.au\/index.php#index.htm\"><strong>www.ahanationalawards.com.au\/index.php#index.htm<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The team at The Grovedale Hotel are charging their glasses after winning the Overall Hotel of the Year (Regional) title at the 2023 Australian Hotels Association National Awards of Excellence.
