THRIFTING and op shopping have become the cool and sustainable way to update your wardrobe, and Revive Pre-loved Clothing Markets is bringing the concept to Barwon Heads next week.<\/p>\n

The market will feature a curated selection of local fashionistas selling their on-trend and pre-loved items.<\/p>\n

Inspired by Melbourne’s Camberwell Market and Hunter Market, Revive Pre-loved Clothing Markets aims to bring high-end thrifting to Geelong and the Bellarine Peninsula.<\/p>\n

Camryn Tucci has launched Revive Markets while taking a break from studying Fashion Design at RMIT.<\/p>\n

While fashion is her thing, Ms Tucci – like most university students – has a limited budget and also wants to be environmentally conscious.<\/p>\n

She said she had always loved thrifting, repurposing, and reusing, and her wardrobe was full of quirky pre-loved fashion and the odd second-hand designer gem.<\/p>\n

A recent favourite purchase was a Zimmermann floral dress that she has worn to the races, a wedding, and even lent out to a friend.<\/p>\n

She said the idea of wearing an item only once did not sit well with her, and thus Revive Markets was born.<\/p>\n

Ms Tucci said the callout for stall holders had been very positive, with more than 40 people signing up to sell their quality, lightly worn clothes.<\/p>\n

There will be many designer labels as well unique pieces, so fashion lovers can shop guilt-free while they help save the world from textile waste.<\/p>\n

Stall holders are women aged 18 to 50 and older, who were chosen based on their collection of quality lightly-worn items in a wide range on designs and sizes to ensure a great selection of clothes at the market.<\/p>\n

Revive Markets is being pitched as the perfect place to shop for a pretty Christmas Day dress or sparkly New Year’s Eve number, and for younger shoppers to find summer festival outfits without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n

Ms Tucci said she hoped the market would have a positive impact on the environment by reducing textiles waste, as well as encouraging women to shop second-hand and join the circular economy.<\/p>\n

Revive Markets will launch at Barwon Heads Hall on December 10 from 10am to 3pm.<\/p>\n
