MORE than 300 people turned out to celebrate Bellarine Aquatic and Sports Centre’s 15th birthday.<\/p>\n

Sunday’s free celebration event officially kicked off the City of Greater Geelong’s Summer of Fun swim series festival.<\/p>\n

Family friendly games and activities including face painting, henna, glitter tattoos and a huge sausage sizzle featured on the day.<\/p>\n

Locals also enjoyed live entertainment from DJ Ali and Disco Dome and feasted on a mega sized birthday cake to celebrate the big milestone.<\/p>\n

Mayor Trent Sullivan said the celebration event was a great way to kick off an exciting summer by the water.<\/p>\n

“The facility’s 15th birthday was a great reason to kick off our free Summer of Fun initiative at the Bellarine Aquatic and Sports Centre,” he said.<\/p>\n

“Summer of Fun will get around to all of our aquatic centres during summer, including at the new Northern Aquatic and Community Hub.<\/p>\n

“Each centre will have free entry, food and entertainment on selected Sundays throughout summer.”<\/p>\n

The next Summer of Fun event will be held at Kardinia Aquatic Centre this Sunday (December 17).<\/p>\n
