{"id":81180,"date":"2024-02-03T04:00:36","date_gmt":"2024-02-02T17:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=81180"},"modified":"2024-02-03T04:00:36","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T17:00:36","slug":"sailing-success-celebrated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/news\/sailing-success-celebrated\/","title":{"rendered":"Sailing success celebrated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MORE than 100,000 people flocked to the Geelong Waterfront over the long weekend to enjoy the Southern Hemisphere&#8217;s oldest keelboat sailing regatta, the Festival of Sails.<\/p>\n<p>The three days of fast furious sailing and sensational entertainment was lauded by attendees, with many commenting on the event&#8217;s success and giving it their tick of approval.<\/p>\n<p>Out on the water, the event&#8217;s 181st anniversary saw more than 40 races take place across nine divisions, including the Passage Race on Friday last week.<\/p>\n<p>Marcus Blackmore&#8217;s new boat Hooligan took home the grand prix title over more than 200 competitors.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_126780\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-126780\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-126780 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/HOOLIGAN-2-scaled.jpg?_t=1706651581\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-126780\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hooligan was victorious in the main race on Friday.
