{"id":81214,"date":"2024-01-31T20:58:03","date_gmt":"2024-01-31T09:58:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=81214"},"modified":"2024-02-01T09:21:55","modified_gmt":"2024-01-31T22:21:55","slug":"geelong-jazz-soirees-summer-series-return-to-the-botanic-gardens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/geelong-jazz-soirees-summer-series-return-to-the-botanic-gardens\/","title":{"rendered":"Geelong Jazz Soirees Summer Series return to the Botanic Gardens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GEELONG Jazz Soirees Summer Series is starting Saturday, February 3 at the Geelong Botanic Gardens.<\/p>\n<p>The annual outdoor event is heading into its fourth year and will feature Hot Club Swing, The Syncopators and The Suspects.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There is something for everyone in this year&#8217;s program whether you are a jazz lover or not &#8211; these are going to be some extraordinary performances in a beautiful setting,&#8221; event organiser Callum Watson said.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-30038 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/GJSPic_32313.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This year it&#8217;s about the best jazz acts that have come out of Geelong, each act we have selected is the highest calibre and all have a very distinct link to Geelong.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The summer series features three concerts over the first three Saturdays of February, opening with French Gypsy swing group Hot Club Swing.<\/p>\n<p>This group has played at several major festivals, including the Port Fairy Music Festival, the Queenscliff Music Festival and the National Jazz Convention.<\/p>\n<p>On February 10, The Syncopators will continue the summer series. The group is recognised as one of Australia&#8217;s top jazz groups and have toured internationally.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_126900\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-126900\" style=\"width: 601px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-126900 \" src=\"https:\/\/static.timesnewsgroup.com.au\/prod\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/01\/31.01.2024_16.03.22_REC.png?_t=1706677442\" alt=\"\" width=\"601\" height=\"400\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-126900\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Hot Club Swing&#8217;s Rob Gador and Phil Smurthwaite.
