fundraiser swim.<\/p>\n<p>Close to 400 swimmers will enter the coastal waters off Indented Head, the most in the event&#8217;s 15-year history.<\/p>\n<p>Yacht club commodore John Walter will be among the first-time swimmers at this year&#8217;s Wreck2Reef and said he is excited to finally participate in the club&#8217;s biggest event of the year.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve never had the inclination to actually participate because I&#8217;ve been busy helping organise the day, but this year, I thought &#8216;Why not?&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_81661\" lifelong IHYC member Manfred Herzer, Jason Mc Intosh, and Matjaz Kostrevc.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are all totally hooked now that we can all swim a bit of a distance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Walter and his training mates usually meet up with the club&#8217;s newest members, The Salty Bitches Swim Club.<\/p>\n<p>The group of swimmers began swimming at dawn for mutual fun and support during the height of the funds raised from Wreck2Reef were used to purchase equipment, ranging from rescue and training boats for the IHYC&#8217;s junior sailing program.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The aim of the Wreck2Reef&#8217;s fundraising is to keep kids on the water and ensure finances are not a barrier to do this for parents or families.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Over the years, the IHYC has produced several stand-out junior sailors who have competed nationally and internationally on junior Australian sailing teams.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Wreck2Reef online registrations can still be made <a
