THE state government has tipped another half a million dollars into Moriac Primary School to finish the second and third stages of its upgrade.<\/p>\n
Member for Western Victoria Gayle Tierney visited the school last week to announce the $500,000 in funding.<\/p>\n
The money comes on top of $3.15 million provided by Labor to upgrade Moriac Primary School, including construction of two new learning blocks with seven classrooms, new multi-purpose learning spaces, and a renovation of admin and support areas.<\/p>\n
Stage 1 of the upgrade has already been completed, including a new junior school block with three classrooms and a multi-purpose space.<\/p>\n
Work is under way on stages 2 and 3 of the upgrade, including construction of a new middle school block with four classrooms, a new multi-purpose space and upgrades to the school admin and support facilities.<\/p>\n
The upgrade to admin spaces will include new staff offices, a counselling room, a disabled toilet and first aid facilities.<\/p>\n
James Deans & Associates Architects designed the upgrade, with Lyons Construction building it.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a great outcome for the community. With this funding boost Moriac Primary School will be able to deliver their plans in full,\u201d Ms Tierney said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know how important this project is to the Moriac community \u2013 I\u2019m delighted that we\u2019ve been able to work in partnership every step of the way to make it a reality.\u201d<\/p>\n
