luncheon raises big total for breast cancer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>PLAYERS and supporters of Ocean Grove Cricket Club wore their best shades of pink on Saturday for the club&#8217;s annual Pink Stumps Day.<\/p>\n<p>The club&#8217;s Ladies Day function held on the day, headlined proceedings with club members draped in pink enjoying live entertainment and raising crucial breast cancer research funds for the McGrath Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>Event organiser and club member Jamie Fankhauser was extremely pleased with the turnout.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was a fantastic day, a great success, we had a lot of people turn up to raise over $6,000,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Everyone has commented really positively on the day and had a really good time, from what I were also privileged to hear from a local Breast Care Nurse based out of Geelong Hospital about the importance of the McGrath Foundation and the crucial research it is doing.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Fankhauser said the club had tried to make the event as family oriented as possible dating back to 2017 and often welcomes guests from out of Ocean Grove and even as far as Melbourne.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s really special that the whole club rallies around this event, from the boys wearing the pink caps and pink zinc to the umpire wearing his pink shirt.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure
