{"id":83054,"date":"2024-03-06T23:59:41","date_gmt":"2024-03-06T12:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/?p=83054"},"modified":"2024-03-06T21:26:10","modified_gmt":"2024-03-06T10:26:10","slug":"jessica-mauboy-tours-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesnewsgroup.com.au\/bellarinetimes\/living\/jessica-mauboy-tours-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Jessica Mauboy tours new album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Australian musician Jessica Mauboy is bringing her fifth studio album <\/strong><em><strong>Yours Forever<\/strong><\/em><strong> to Geelong.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mauboy will tour regional and metro cities across 23 dates, heading to Geelong\u2019s Costa Hall on Friday, March 15.<\/p>\n<p>Her latest album includes 10 new songs and was written and recorded in Australia, exploring themes of love, hope, heartbreak, and resilience.<\/p>\n<p>Mauboy said <em>Yours Forever<\/em> was a nostalgic album, and when you strip it back it had a depth she had never gone to or shared before.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<em>Yours Forever<\/em> is me at my truest self, comfortable in my skin, not comparing myself or trying to be someone or something that anyone expects me to be.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis album takes me back to the basics of who I was in the past, who I am in the present and who I will be in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new album is the first she has released since 2019&#8217;s <em>Hilda<\/em>, which was a number one ARIA album.<\/p>\n<p>Mauboy came second on <em>Australian Idol<\/em> in 2006 and is now one of the coaches on <em>The Voice.<\/em> She is also well known for her lead role in 2012 film <em>The Sapphires<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll never forget being on Australian Idol and singing Whitney Houston standing in the red dirt of Mparntwe (Alice Springs) at my audition,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was my first taste of the music industry.
